Siena

Just a 10-minute drive to the city centre is Siena, distinguished by its medieval brick buildings. Piazza del Campo, the central square with its characteristic fan shape, is home to the Palazzo Pubblico (the Gothic-style town hall) and the Torre del Mangia, a soaring 14th-century tower from whose white battlements you can enjoy a wonderful view. The seventeen historical contrade (city quarters) extend all around it right from the square.

Monteriggioni

A 20-minute drive away is the enchanting citadel of Monteriggioni. Located in the centre of Tuscany, the castle owes its origin to the Republic of Siena. Monteriggioni still retains most of its 13th-century structures and is an absolutely unique place in the panorama of Tuscan medieval villages.

San Gimignano

Going higher and higher, 45 km away from our tavern we meet Sa Gimignao and its magical towers! San Gimignano is a hilly town, surrounded by 13th-century walls. The centrepiece of its historic centre is Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square lined with medieval houses. In the skyline of medieval towers, the stone Torre Grossa stands out. The Cathedral of San Gimignano is a 12th-century church where you can admire the frescoes in the Chapel of Santa Fina.
